Privacy Policy for CollectionCare project

The protection of personal data is an important commitment for the CollectionCare project. The entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 “Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data” (hereinafter “GDPR”), which entered into effect in May of 2018, has provided the opportunity to further adapt the activities carried out by the project to the principles of transparency and protection of personal data, in compliance with the fundamental rights and freedoms of all stakeholders.

Also, according to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 it is mandatory that every corporation that handles personal data must have a data protection officer (DPO). The CollectionCare project being led by the Universitat Politècnica de València, its DPO is Ricard Martínez Martínez with e-mail  .

At the CollectionCare project, accessible from www.collectioncare.eu, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document details how the CollectionCare project handles the collection, recording and use of any information, personal or otherwise, that visitors may disclose through the use of the CollectionCare website.

Users who contact this website and/or its owners will do so at their own discretion, and will not be asked for any information or personal data. Email Newsletter

The CollectionCare website also operates an email newsletter program using Mailchimp to inform subscribers of the latest news and progress on the project. Users can subscribe through an automated online process if they wish, but do so at their own discretion. When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including such items as first and last name, and email address.

Mailchimp takes data privacy very seriously, and has updated its privacy policy in accordance with the GDPR. Therefore, its privacy policy is guided by this law, and explains who they are, how they collect, share and use personal information, and how users can exercise their privacy rights.

The CollectionCare project website can use social sharing buttons that help share web content directly from web pages to the project social media platform in question. Log Files

CollectionCare follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
