In Europe (and in particular in Italy) there are thousands of small and medium-sized museums which preserve artistic artefacts of great value. However, due to limited funds and sometimes unskilled staff, these museums often encounter great difficulties in adopting strategies aimed at the preventive conservation of works and their valorisation.
Thanks to the European project CollectionCare (https://www.collectioncare.eu/), in which Sapienza is a partner, the preservation of works in these museums will be made accessible through an innovative system that aims to facilitate the adoption of cutting-edge management strategies for the preventive conservation of works on paper, wood, canvas and metal.
